Client DIY project

This client chose a Modern Contemporary garden design in a Medium size (301–800m²), tailored for the Western Cape climate. A local bricklayer installed the herringbone pathway, while plants were sourced from a nearby nursery. The garden was planted and laid out by their gardener, working directly from the design plan.

The client made a few small tweaks to the plant selection to achieve a slightly more lush, layered look, while keeping the overall structure of the design intact.

The project is being completed in phases, with the next stage focusing on the lawn and additional pathway work.

Client Project DIY – Country Design

This client selected a Large Country-style garden design (801–1500m²) created for the Western Cape climate. They were looking for a layout that included raised garden beds, allowing them to grow their own edible garden alongside a structured country aesthetic.

With the house newly built and the surrounding ground completely bare, the design provided a clear starting point. A local builder constructed the pond, pergola, laid the paving, and built the raised beds, using materials sourced from a nearby hardware store. Plants were purchased from a local nursery and planted according to the plan.

The client made a few small customisations to suit their preferences, but the finished garden remains very close to the original design. As the planting continues to fill out, the garden is becoming cohesive, settled, and perfectly in keeping with its country setting.
